Inseego Router Login

Need to change your WiFi password or update your network settings? Log into your Inseego router's setup page to get it done.

The default gateway address for Inseego is 192.168.1.1. Type this into your browser's address bar (not the search bar) while connected to the router's network.

Login Steps

Accessing your Inseego router admin through http://192.168.1.1 will allow you to change the settings and configurations that your router software provides.

  1. Connect to your Inseego router. Make sure the router is on. Plug in an ethernet cable or connect to the router's WiFi. Ethernet works best for admin access.

  2. Open any web browser. Type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar (not the search bar) and press Enter.

  3. If the default IP doesn't work, find the real one. On Windows, open Command Prompt and type ipconfig. Look for "Default Gateway". On Mac, open Terminal and type netstat -nr.

  4. Use the default credentials listed above. The most common combo is admin / admin. Check the label on the bottom of your router if those don't work.

  5. You're in. Change your WiFi name and password, set up port forwarding, update firmware, or adjust security settings.

Troubleshooting Inseego Router Login

If you have forgotten your username and password, you can follow the instructions to recover them. If you haven't changed the default username and password that came with the router, you can consult our default router usernames and passwords list.

  • Can't reach the login page

Make sure you're connected to the Inseego router via WiFi or ethernet, not mobile data. Type http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. If it still won't load, unplug the router for 30 seconds and try again.

  • Default credentials not accepted

Check the sticker on the bottom of your Inseego router. The actual username and password are printed there. If those don't work either, someone changed them. You'll need to factory reset.

  • Router stops working after changes

Reset to factory defaults: hold the reset button on the back of your Inseego router for 10-30 seconds. Wait 2-3 minutes for it to reboot, then log in again.

  • Forgot the admin password

A factory reset is the only way back in. This wipes all settings, including your WiFi name and password. You'll need to set everything up again after the reset.

  • Settings won't save

Use an ethernet cable instead of WiFi when making changes. Some Inseego routers drop the connection during saves, which causes errors.

About Inseego Routers

Inseego started as Novatel Wireless in 1996 and became a major player in mobile broadband technology. The company rebranded to Inseego in 2016 and focuses on 5G and mobile internet solutions. You'll find Inseego routers sold by major carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile as their branded hotspot devices.

Home users choose Inseego routers because they offer reliable mobile internet connections when traditional broadband isn't available. Many people in rural areas rely on Inseego devices for their primary internet connection. The brand works well with carrier data plans and provides stable connections for multiple devices.

Accessing the Inseego Admin Panel

You can access your Inseego router admin panel through any web browser on a connected device. Connect to your Inseego router's WiFi network first, then open your browser and navigate to the admin interface.

Most Inseego routers use 192.168.1.1 as their default IP address. Type this into your browser's address bar and press Enter. Some newer Inseego models might use 192.168.0.1 instead. You can also check the label on your Inseego device for the exact IP address.

Inseego routers sometimes take longer to load the login page compared to traditional routers. Wait at least 30 seconds after typing the IP address before refreshing the page. If you can't reach 192.168.1.1, try connecting directly to the Inseego router's WiFi network first. Make sure you're not connected to your home WiFi or mobile data when trying to access the Inseego admin panel.

Popular Inseego Models

The Inseego MiFi 8000 uses admin/admin for both username and password. The newer MiFi M2100 5G UW also uses admin/admin by default. Inseego's Skyus 120 typically comes with admin/admin credentials as well. The FWA101 and FWA201 indoor routers follow the same pattern with admin/admin login details.

Older Inseego MiFi devices might have different default passwords printed on the device label. Check the bottom or back of your specific Inseego model for a sticker with login credentials. Some carrier-branded Inseego routers use the last four digits of the device's serial number as the default password.

Troubleshooting Inseego Login Issues

If you can't reach your Inseego router's login page, check that you're connected to the correct WiFi network. Inseego routers broadcast their own WiFi signal that you need to join first. Look for a network name that starts with your carrier name or includes 'Inseego' in the name.

When admin/admin doesn't work on your Inseego router, look for a password sticker on the device itself. Some Inseego models use a random password that's printed on the back or bottom of the router. Try using 'admin' as the username with the password from the sticker. If someone changed the password previously, you'll need to reset the Inseego router to factory defaults.

After factory resetting your Inseego router, wait for it to fully boot up before trying to log in. The power LED should be solid green or blue depending on your model. Connect to the default WiFi network and use 192.168.1.1 with admin/admin credentials to access the admin panel.

How to Factory Reset a Inseego Router

Reset your Inseego router when you can't remember the admin password or when the device isn't working properly. You should also reset it if you're giving the router to someone else or if network settings got corrupted.

Locate the small Reset button on your Inseego router. It's usually on the back or bottom of the device near the power port. With the router powered on, press and hold the Reset button using a paperclip or similar tool. Hold the button for 10-15 seconds until you see the LED lights flash or change color. Release the button and wait for the Inseego router to restart completely. The entire reset process takes about 2-3 minutes for most Inseego models.

Your Inseego router will return to factory defaults after the reset. You'll need to reconnect to the default WiFi network and set up your internet connection again. Check the device label for the default WiFi password and admin login credentials.
