Antel Router Login

Need to change your WiFi password or update your network settings? Log into your Antel router's setup page to get it done.

The default gateway address for Antel is 192.168.1.1. Type this into your browser's address bar (not the search bar) while connected to the router's network.

Login Steps

Accessing your Antel router admin through http://192.168.1.1 will allow you to change the settings and configurations that your router software provides.

  1. Connect to your Antel router. Make sure the router is on. Plug in an ethernet cable or connect to the router's WiFi. Ethernet works best for admin access.

  2. Open any web browser. Type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar (not the search bar) and press Enter.

  3. If the default IP doesn't work, find the real one. On Windows, open Command Prompt and type ipconfig. Look for "Default Gateway". On Mac, open Terminal and type netstat -nr.

  4. Use the default credentials listed above. The most common combo is admin / admin. Check the label on the bottom of your router if those don't work.

  5. You're in. Change your WiFi name and password, set up port forwarding, update firmware, or adjust security settings.

Troubleshooting Antel Router Login

If you have forgotten your username and password, you can follow the instructions to recover them. If you haven't changed the default username and password that came with the router, you can consult our default router usernames and passwords list.

  • Can't reach the login page

Make sure you're connected to the Antel router via WiFi or ethernet, not mobile data. Type http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. If it still won't load, unplug the router for 30 seconds and try again.

  • Default credentials not accepted

Check the sticker on the bottom of your Antel router. The actual username and password are printed there. If those don't work either, someone changed them. You'll need to factory reset.

  • Router stops working after changes

Reset to factory defaults: hold the reset button on the back of your Antel router for 10-30 seconds. Wait 2-3 minutes for it to reboot, then log in again.

  • Forgot the admin password

A factory reset is the only way back in. This wipes all settings, including your WiFi name and password. You'll need to set everything up again after the reset.

  • Settings won't save

Use an ethernet cable instead of WiFi when making changes. Some Antel routers drop the connection during saves, which causes errors.

About Antel Routers

Antel launched as Uruguay's state-owned telecommunications company in 1974. The company expanded beyond traditional phone services to become Uruguay's largest internet provider. Antel entered the router market to give customers reliable home networking equipment that works perfectly with their fiber and ADSL services.

Antel focuses on the Latin American market, especially Uruguay where they hold the dominant market position. Their routers come pre-configured for Antel's network settings. You get plug-and-play setup when you subscribe to Antel internet services.

Home users choose Antel routers because they're optimized for Antel's network infrastructure. You don't need to configure complex settings since Antel pre-programs everything. The routers work seamlessly with Antel's fiber optic and ADSL connections.

Antel offers competitive pricing and reliable customer support in Spanish. Their routers include features like parental controls and guest networks that families need. You can get technical support directly from Antel when problems occur.

Accessing the Antel Admin Panel

You access your Antel router admin panel through any web browser on your connected device. Open your browser and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. Antel uses this IP address as the default gateway for all their router models.

Antel routers always use 192.168.1.1 as the default IP address. Check the router label on the back or bottom of your device to confirm. You'll see a sticker with the IP address, username, and password printed clearly.

If 192.168.1.1 doesn't work, someone may have changed the IP address. Open Command Prompt on Windows and type 'ipconfig'. Look for the Default Gateway under your wireless adapter. That's your Antel router's current IP address.

Antel routers sometimes show a blank login page when you first connect. Clear your browser cache and cookies, then try again. Antel's firmware can conflict with certain browser extensions that block scripts.

You might see 'Connection Refused' errors with older Antel models. These routers need a few minutes to fully boot up after plugging in. Wait five minutes, then refresh the login page. Don't try multiple browsers at the same time since Antel limits simultaneous admin sessions.

Some Antel routers redirect you to a Spanish-language setup wizard on first access. You can change the language in the top-right corner of the interface. Antel includes English support in most recent firmware versions.

Popular Antel Models

The Antel WiFi 6 router uses admin/admin as default credentials and supports 192.168.1.1 access. You'll find this model bundled with Antel's fiber plans. The Antel AC1200 router also uses admin/admin but has an older web interface design.

Antel's basic ADSL router models like the Antel WiFi N use the same admin/admin combination. These entry-level routers have simpler menus but include all basic networking features. The Antel Mesh system requires admin/admin for the main unit, while satellite units connect automatically.

Older Antel routers from 2018 and earlier might use 'antel' as both username and password. Check your router's label if admin/admin doesn't work. Antel changed their default credentials around 2019 for better security.

Newer Antel WiFi 6 and AC models show a modern dashboard with quick setup tiles. You can change WiFi passwords and view connected devices from the main screen. Older Antel N models use a traditional menu structure with separate pages for wireless, security, and network settings.

Antel's mesh routers display a network topology view showing all connected satellites. You manage the entire mesh system from one admin panel. Basic ADSL models focus on connection status and don't include advanced features like bandwidth monitoring.

Troubleshooting Antel Login Issues

When you can't reach 192.168.1.1, first check that you're connected to your Antel router's WiFi network. Open your WiFi settings and confirm you're connected to the network name printed on your router label. Antel routers won't accept admin connections from external networks.

Disable any VPN software that might be redirecting your traffic. Antel routers block admin access when they detect VPN connections. Try using a different device like your phone or tablet to see if the problem affects all devices.

Antel's most common default password is 'admin' with username 'admin'. If this doesn't work, look for a sticker on your router showing custom credentials. Some Antel models shipped to specific regions use different defaults like 'antel/antel' or 'user/user'.

Antel routers lock the admin panel after five failed login attempts. Wait 15 minutes before trying again, or restart your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds. Don't keep trying wrong passwords since Antel extends the lockout time with each failed attempt.

After factory reset, your Antel router returns to default settings including admin/admin credentials. Connect to the default WiFi network shown on your router label. The network name usually starts with 'Antel_' followed by numbers or letters.

You'll need to reconfigure your internet connection settings for Antel's network. Contact Antel support for your specific connection parameters if you don't have the original setup information. Most fiber connections auto-configure, but ADSL requires manual PPPoE settings.

How to Factory Reset a Antel Router

Reset your Antel router when you can't access the admin panel due to forgotten passwords or configuration errors. You should also reset if the router won't connect to Antel's network or shows persistent error messages that troubleshooting can't fix.

Locate the small Reset button on the back of your Antel router. The button is usually recessed and requires a paperclip or pin to press. Make sure your router is powered on and running normally before starting.

Press and hold the Reset button for 10-15 seconds while the router is powered on. You'll see the LED lights flash or turn off completely during the reset process. Keep holding until all lights turn off, then release the button.

Wait 2-3 minutes for your Antel router to complete the factory reset and restart. The lights will cycle through different colors as the router loads its default firmware. Don't unplug the router during this process or you might cause permanent damage.

After reset, connect to your Antel router using the default WiFi network and password printed on the device label. Access the admin panel at 192.168.1.1 with admin/admin credentials. Run through Antel's setup wizard to restore your internet connection and configure your preferred settings.
