Excitel Router Login
Need to change your WiFi password or update your network settings? Log into your Excitel router's setup page to get it done.
The default gateway address for Excitel is 192.168.1.1. Type this into your browser's address bar (not the search bar) while connected to the router's network.
Login Steps
Accessing your Excitel router admin through http://192.168.1.1 will allow you to change the settings and configurations that your router software provides.
-
Connect to your Excitel router. Make sure the router is on. Plug in an ethernet cable or connect to the router's WiFi. Ethernet works best for admin access.
-
Open any web browser. Type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar (not the search bar) and press Enter.
-
If the default IP doesn't work, find the real one. On Windows, open Command Prompt and type
ipconfig. Look for "Default Gateway". On Mac, open Terminal and typenetstat -nr. -
Use the default credentials listed above. The most common combo is admin / admin. Check the label on the bottom of your router if those don't work.
-
You're in. Change your WiFi name and password, set up port forwarding, update firmware, or adjust security settings.
Troubleshooting Excitel Router Login
If you have forgotten your username and password, you can follow the instructions to recover them. If you haven't changed the default username and password that came with the router, you can consult our default router usernames and passwords list.
-
Can't reach the login page
Make sure you're connected to the Excitel router via WiFi or ethernet, not mobile data. Type http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. If it still won't load, unplug the router for 30 seconds and try again.
-
Default credentials not accepted
Check the sticker on the bottom of your Excitel router. The actual username and password are printed there. If those don't work either, someone changed them. You'll need to factory reset.
-
Router stops working after changes
Reset to factory defaults: hold the reset button on the back of your Excitel router for 10-30 seconds. Wait 2-3 minutes for it to reboot, then log in again.
-
Forgot the admin password
A factory reset is the only way back in. This wipes all settings, including your WiFi name and password. You'll need to set everything up again after the reset.
-
Settings won't save
Use an ethernet cable instead of WiFi when making changes. Some Excitel routers drop the connection during saves, which causes errors.
About Excitel Routers
Excitel started as a fiber internet service provider in Delhi in 2015. The company focuses on providing affordable high-speed internet to urban areas across India. Excitel expanded rapidly to cities like Hyderabad, Chennai, and Pune, becoming known for unlimited data plans and competitive pricing.
Excitel partnered with hardware manufacturers to provide custom-branded routers to their subscribers. These routers come pre-configured with Excitel's network settings and custom firmware. The company positions itself as a budget-friendly alternative to traditional ISPs while maintaining decent service quality.
Home users choose Excitel routers because they come bundled with internet plans at no extra cost. The routers arrive pre-configured, so you don't need technical knowledge to get online. Excitel's customer support helps with basic router issues, and replacement units are available if your device fails.
Excitel routers work well for typical home usage like streaming, video calls, and browsing. The brand offers good value since you get both internet service and networking equipment in one package.
Accessing the Excitel Admin Panel
You can access your Excitel router admin panel through any web browser on your connected device. The login page lets you change WiFi passwords, monitor connected devices, and adjust network settings. Excitel uses standard web-based management that works on phones, tablets, and computers.
Most Excitel routers use 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway address. You can find the exact IP printed on a sticker attached to your Excitel router. Look for labels saying "Gateway" or "Router IP" on the back or bottom of the device.
If you can't find the sticker, open Command Prompt on Windows and type "ipconfig". Look for the "Default Gateway" entry under your WiFi connection. On Android, go to WiFi settings, tap your Excitel network, and check the gateway address.
Excitel routers sometimes show "page cannot be displayed" errors when you try to login. This happens because Excitel's custom firmware takes longer to load the admin interface. Wait 30 seconds and try refreshing the page before assuming there's a problem.
Some Excitel models redirect you to a simplified user portal instead of the full admin panel. If you see a basic page with limited options, try adding "/admin" or "/advanced" to the end of the IP address in your browser. Excitel restricts certain advanced features to prevent users from breaking their internet connection.
Excitel routers may reject login attempts if you're connected to the guest network. Make sure you're connected to the main WiFi network before trying to access the admin panel. Guest networks on Excitel devices have limited access to router management features.
Popular Excitel Models
The Excitel EX-300 is a basic dual-band router that comes with entry-level plans. Default login is admin/admin, and the interface shows Excitel branding throughout. The EX-500 offers better range and comes with mid-tier plans, using the same admin/admin credentials but with additional QoS controls.
Excitel's EX-1200 model supports higher speeds and includes USB ports for file sharing. Login credentials remain admin/admin, but the interface includes Excitel-specific bandwidth monitoring tools. The EX-2400 is their premium model with WiFi 6 support, custom Excitel firmware, and advanced parental controls.
Older Excitel models like the EX-150 may use different default passwords. Check the router sticker for model-specific credentials. Some units shipped in 2020-2021 used "excitel" as both username and password due to a firmware update.
Excitel's newer models automatically update their admin interfaces through the company's servers. You might see different menu layouts or options depending on when your router last connected to Excitel's management system. Older models require manual firmware updates through the admin panel.
Entry-level Excitel routers hide advanced networking features to prevent configuration errors. Premium models show more options but still block changes to certain ISP-specific settings that could disrupt your internet service.
Troubleshooting Excitel Login Issues
If you can't reach your Excitel router's admin page, check that your device is connected to the router's WiFi network. Excitel routers don't allow admin access from ethernet connections on some models. Use WiFi instead of wired connections when accessing the login page.
Excitel routers sometimes enter a "maintenance mode" that blocks admin access during automatic updates. Wait 10 minutes and try again if you get connection errors. The router's WiFi light should be solid blue or green when the admin interface is available.
If admin/admin doesn't work on your Excitel router, try using "excitel" as both username and password. Some Excitel firmware versions changed the default credentials during security updates. Check the router label for any printed passwords that might override the standard defaults.
Excitel customer service can provide the current admin password for your specific router model. Call their technical support line with your account details and router serial number. They can reset the admin credentials remotely without requiring a factory reset.
After factory resetting your Excitel router, wait 5 minutes before trying to log in. The router needs time to load Excitel's custom firmware and establish the admin interface. Use 192.168.1.1 and admin/admin credentials for the initial login after reset.
Excitel routers automatically download ISP settings after reset, but you'll need to reconfigure your WiFi password and any custom settings. Contact Excitel support if the router doesn't reconnect to the internet within 15 minutes of reset.
How to Factory Reset a Excitel Router
Factory reset your Excitel router when you can't log in with any password combination, or if the internet connection stops working completely. Reset also helps when the router becomes unresponsive or if Excitel support recommends it during troubleshooting.
Locate the small reset button on your Excitel router, usually found on the back panel near the power port. Keep the router powered on during the reset process. Press and hold the reset button using a paperclip or similar tool for 10-15 seconds.
Excitel routers will flash all LED lights during reset, then restart automatically. Don't unplug the power during this process as it can corrupt the firmware. The router takes 2-3 minutes to fully reboot and load Excitel's default configuration.
Some Excitel models require you to hold the reset button while powering on the device. Check your router's label for model-specific reset instructions if the standard method doesn't work.
After reset, your Excitel router returns to factory defaults with admin/admin login credentials. You'll need to set up your WiFi network name and password again. The router should automatically reconnect to Excitel's servers and restore your internet service within 10 minutes.
