Maxis Router Login
Maxis is Malaysia's largest mobile operator and also provides home fibre broadband via Maxis Fibre. Their supplied routers include devices from Huawei and other manufacturers.
Login Details
Maxis routers use 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1. Username is admin and the password is on the router label.
About Maxis Routers
Maxis started as Malaysia's leading telecommunications provider in 1995. The company expanded into home networking equipment to support their fiber and broadband services. Maxis routers are designed specifically for Malaysian households and businesses using Maxis internet plans.
Maxis focuses on affordable networking solutions that work well with their fiber infrastructure. Their routers come pre-configured for Maxis internet services. The company partners with manufacturers like TP-Link and D-Link to create Maxis-branded devices.
Malaysian users choose Maxis routers because they're optimized for Maxis fiber connections. You get seamless integration with your Maxis internet plan without complex setup. The routers come with Maxis technical support and replacement warranties.
Maxis routers also offer good value for money compared to retail networking equipment. They include features like WiFi 6 support and mesh networking capabilities at competitive prices.
Accessing the Maxis Admin Panel
You can access your Maxis router admin panel through any web browser on your computer or phone. Connect to your Maxis WiFi network first, then navigate to the router's IP address to reach the login page.
Most Maxis routers use 192.168.0.1 as the default gateway address. Type this into your browser's address bar and press Enter. If that doesn't work, try 192.168.1.1 instead.
You can also check the sticker on your Maxis router for the exact IP address. Look for a label that says 'Gateway' or 'Router IP'. Some newer Maxis models display the login address on their LCD screens.
Maxis routers sometimes block admin access if you're connected through WiFi extenders or mesh points. Connect directly to the main Maxis router's WiFi network before trying to log in.
Some Maxis fiber modems have built-in routing features that can interfere with your separate Maxis router. If you can't reach the admin page, check if your modem is in bridge mode. Contact Maxis support if you're unsure about your modem configuration.
Maxis routers may also reset their IP address after firmware updates. The router might switch from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1 or vice versa. Try both addresses if you suddenly can't access the admin panel.
Popular Maxis Models
The Maxis WiFi 6 router uses admin/admin as the default login credentials. This model supports up to 100 connected devices and comes with most Maxis fiber plans. The admin interface has a dark blue theme with the Maxis logo.
Maxis Mesh routers also use admin/admin by default. These come in sets of 2-3 units for larger homes. You only need to log into the main unit to configure the entire mesh network. The older Maxis AC1200 models use the same admin/admin combination but have a different green-colored interface.
Some Maxis business routers use 'admin' as the username but require a unique password printed on the router label. Check the device sticker if admin/admin doesn't work on your business-grade Maxis router.
Newer Maxis WiFi 6 routers have a simplified setup wizard that appears automatically on first login. Older Maxis models take you directly to the full admin interface. Both use the same basic login credentials.
Maxis mesh systems require you to log into the primary unit only. The satellite units don't have separate admin interfaces. Business Maxis routers often have additional security features like two-factor authentication enabled by default.
Troubleshooting Maxis Login Issues
If you can't reach the Maxis router login page, check if your device is connected to the correct WiFi network. You must be on the Maxis router's network, not a guest network or mobile data.
Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, then attempt to access the IP address again. Some browsers remember old login sessions that can interfere with new connections to Maxis routers.
Maxis routers ship with admin/admin as the default credentials. If this doesn't work, someone may have changed the password previously. Look for a password written on the router label or in the quick setup guide that came with your Maxis device.
Maxis technicians sometimes set custom passwords during installation. Check any paperwork from your Maxis installation appointment for login details. If you can't find the password anywhere, you'll need to perform a factory reset.
After factory resetting your Maxis router, wait 2-3 minutes for it to fully boot up. The default credentials return to admin/admin. You'll need to reconfigure your WiFi name and password.
Maxis routers often require you to run through the initial setup wizard again after a reset. Have your Maxis internet account details ready, including any VLAN settings your technician configured.
How to Factory Reset a Maxis Router
Reset your Maxis router if you've forgotten the admin password or if the device isn't working properly after configuration changes. A factory reset also helps if your Maxis router keeps disconnecting from the internet.
Locate the small Reset button on your Maxis router. It's usually a recessed button on the back or bottom of the device. Keep the router powered on during the reset process.
Press and hold the Reset button with a paperclip or pen tip for 10-15 seconds. The Maxis router's lights will flash or turn off completely. Release the button and wait for the router to restart. The power light should turn solid green or blue when the reset is complete.
Some newer Maxis models require you to hold the Reset button for 30 seconds. Check your specific model's manual if a 15-second reset doesn't work.
Your Maxis router will return to factory settings with admin/admin login credentials. You'll need to reconfigure your WiFi network name, password, and any special settings your Maxis technician installed. Contact Maxis support if you need help restoring your original configuration.
