DIR-842 Default Login - Username, Password and IP

The D-Link DIR-842 is a dual-band wireless router that was released in 2017. This AC1200 router operates on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies, giving you better performance and less congestion compared to single-band routers. It's designed to handle multiple devices streaming, gaming, and browsing simultaneously without major slowdowns.

To access your DIR-842's admin panel, you'll need to connect to its default login IP address: 192.168.0.1. When the login page appears, enter admin as the username and leave the password field completely empty. That's right, there's no default password set from the factory.

This router works well for small to medium-sized homes and small offices. It can handle everyday tasks like web browsing, video streaming, and light gaming without issues. The dual-band feature means you can connect older devices to the 2.4GHz band while using the faster 5GHz band for newer devices that need more speed.

If you can't access the router using these default settings, someone may have already changed the login credentials. You'll need to perform a factory reset by holding the reset button for 10 seconds while the router is powered on.
