China Telecom Router Login
Need to change your WiFi password or update your network settings? Log into your China Telecom router's setup page to get it done.
The default gateway address for China Telecom is 192.168.1.1. Type this into your browser's address bar (not the search bar) while connected to the router's network.
Login Steps
Accessing your China Telecom router admin through http://192.168.1.1 will allow you to change the settings and configurations that your router software provides.
-
Connect to your China Telecom router. Make sure the router is on. Plug in an ethernet cable or connect to the router's WiFi. Ethernet works best for admin access.
-
Open any web browser. Type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar (not the search bar) and press Enter.
-
If the default IP doesn't work, find the real one. On Windows, open Command Prompt and type
ipconfig. Look for "Default Gateway". On Mac, open Terminal and typenetstat -nr. -
Use the default credentials listed above. The most common combo is admin / admin. Check the label on the bottom of your router if those don't work.
-
You're in. Change your WiFi name and password, set up port forwarding, update firmware, or adjust security settings.
Troubleshooting China Telecom Router Login
If you have forgotten your username and password, you can follow the instructions to recover them. If you haven't changed the default username and password that came with the router, you can consult our default router usernames and passwords list.
-
Can't reach the login page
Make sure you're connected to the China Telecom router via WiFi or ethernet, not mobile data. Type http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. If it still won't load, unplug the router for 30 seconds and try again.
-
Default credentials not accepted
Check the sticker on the bottom of your China Telecom router. The actual username and password are printed there. If those don't work either, someone changed them. You'll need to factory reset.
-
Router stops working after changes
Reset to factory defaults: hold the reset button on the back of your China Telecom router for 10-30 seconds. Wait 2-3 minutes for it to reboot, then log in again.
-
Forgot the admin password
A factory reset is the only way back in. This wipes all settings, including your WiFi name and password. You'll need to set everything up again after the reset.
-
Settings won't save
Use an ethernet cable instead of WiFi when making changes. Some China Telecom routers drop the connection during saves, which causes errors.
About China Telecom Routers
China Telecom launched its router division in 2008 to serve China's massive broadband expansion. The company became one of the world's largest telecommunications providers, manufacturing routers specifically for Chinese internet infrastructure and home users. China Telecom routers are built to handle the unique requirements of China's internet ecosystem, including specific firewall configurations and network protocols.
Today, China Telecom routers are found in millions of Chinese homes and businesses. The company produces both basic ADSL models and advanced fiber-optic routers. China Telecom focuses on reliability and ease of use, designing their admin interfaces in both Chinese and English to serve diverse user bases.
Home users choose China Telecom routers because they come pre-configured for China Telecom's network services. You don't need technical knowledge to set them up. The routers work seamlessly with China Telecom's broadband plans and often come bundled with internet service packages.
China Telecom routers are also popular because of their consistent admin interface design. Once you learn to navigate one China Telecom router, you can easily manage any model in their lineup. The company provides excellent customer support in multiple languages, making them accessible to international users in China.
Accessing the China Telecom Admin Panel
Accessing your China Telecom router admin panel requires connecting to the local network interface. China Telecom routers use a web-based control panel that you can reach through any browser. You'll need to know your router's IP address and login credentials to get started.
China Telecom routers typically use 192.168.1.1 as their default IP address. Check the sticker on the bottom or back of your router for confirmation. The label shows the exact IP address, username, and password for your specific model.
If you can't find the sticker or it's worn off, open Command Prompt on Windows and type 'ipconfig'. Look for the 'Default Gateway' address. On Mac, go to System Preferences, then Network, and check your connection details. The gateway IP is your China Telecom router's address.
China Telecom routers sometimes display login pages in Chinese characters, even when set to English mode. Don't panic if you see Chinese text. Look for input fields that match the general layout of login forms. The username field appears first, followed by the password field.
Some China Telecom models have a security feature that locks you out after three failed login attempts. Wait 10 minutes before trying again. You'll see a timer on the login page showing when you can retry. Clear your browser cache if the page keeps showing the lockout message after the timer expires.
China Telecom routers may redirect you to a service provider portal instead of the admin interface. Close that tab and try typing http://192.168.1.1/admin or http://192.168.1.1/login directly in your address bar. Some models require the specific path to bypass the ISP portal.
Popular China Telecom Models
The China Telecom CT-WR841N is a popular home model with default credentials admin/admin. Open your browser and go to 192.168.1.1 to access the interface. The CT-WR842N offers similar access but includes additional security prompts on first login.
China Telecom's CT-E8C series uses admin/admin for most units, but some variants ship with admin/password. Check your device label first. The CT-F620 fiber router maintains the standard 192.168.1.1 address but may display different interface themes.
Business models like the CT-WR940N often ship with custom passwords printed on the router label. Don't assume the default admin/admin combination works on these units. The CT-AN8 series routers use a simplified login page with large input fields and clear English labels.
Older China Telecom models from 2015 and earlier often use simple HTML interfaces with basic styling. Newer models feature modern web interfaces with responsive design and mobile-friendly layouts. The login process remains the same, but newer interfaces include security warnings and password strength indicators.
Fiber-optic China Telecom models may show additional status information on the login page, including connection speed and line quality. These models also tend to have more security features enabled by default, such as automatic logout after periods of inactivity.
Troubleshooting China Telecom Login Issues
If you can't reach the China Telecom admin page, check that your device is connected to the router's network. Wired connections work more reliably than Wi-Fi for admin access. Unplug your ethernet cable and reconnect it to ensure a solid connection.
China Telecom routers sometimes conflict with VPN software or proxy settings. Disable any VPN connections and check your browser's proxy settings. Go to your browser settings and ensure proxy settings are disabled or set to 'No proxy'. Try accessing the admin page in an incognito or private browsing window to bypass cached settings.
China Telecom routers ship with admin/admin as the most common default login. If this doesn't work, try admin/password or check the router label for printed credentials. Some China Telecom models use the last six digits of the MAC address as the default password.
If you changed the password and forgot it, you'll need to reset the router. China Telecom routers don't have password recovery options built into their firmware. The reset button is your only option to regain access when you're locked out of a China Telecom device.
After factory resetting your China Telecom router, wait 2-3 minutes for the device to fully restart. The power LED should be solid, not blinking. Open your browser and navigate to 192.168.1.1 using the default admin/admin credentials.
China Telecom routers return to their original firmware settings after reset. You'll need to reconfigure your internet connection settings, Wi-Fi network name, and password. The router may prompt you to run a setup wizard on first access after reset.
How to Factory Reset a China Telecom Router
Reset your China Telecom router when you can't remember the admin password or when the device stops responding to configuration changes. Factory reset also fixes firmware corruption issues that cause random disconnections or poor performance.
Locate the small Reset button on your China Telecom router, usually on the back panel near the power connector. Keep the router powered on during the reset process. Press and hold the Reset button using a paperclip or similar tool.
Hold the Reset button for 10-15 seconds while watching the LED indicators. China Telecom routers flash all LEDs simultaneously during reset, then turn off briefly. Release the button when the LEDs start their normal startup sequence.
Wait 2-3 minutes for your China Telecom router to complete the reset process. Don't unplug the power during this time. The router will restart automatically and return to factory settings. All custom configurations will be erased.
Connect to your China Telecom router using an ethernet cable and navigate to 192.168.1.1. Use admin/admin to log in and begin reconfiguring your network settings. Set up your internet connection first, then configure Wi-Fi settings and security options.
