Can't reach the login page
Make sure you're connected to the Gryphon router via WiFi or ethernet, not mobile data. Type http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. If it still won't load, unplug the router for 30 seconds and try again.
-
Default credentials not accepted
Check the sticker on the bottom of your Gryphon router. The actual username and password are printed there. If those don't work either, someone changed them. You'll need to factory reset.

Router stops working after changes
Reset to factory defaults: hold the reset button on the back of your Gryphon router for 10-30 seconds. Wait 2-3 minutes for it to reboot, then log in again.
-
Forgot the admin password
A factory reset is the only way back in. This wipes all settings, including your WiFi name and password. You'll need to set everything up again after the reset.

Settings won't save
Use an ethernet cable instead of WiFi when making changes. Some Gryphon routers drop the connection during saves, which causes errors.
About Gryphon Routers
Gryphon began as a cybersecurity company focused on protecting homes from online threats. The company launched its first router in 2017 with built-in AI-powered security features. Gryphon routers combine traditional WiFi capabilities with advanced malware protection and parental controls. The brand targets families who want strong internet security without complex setup procedures.
Gryphon operates primarily in North America and has gained recognition for its mesh networking systems. The company's routers use machine learning to detect and block suspicious network activity automatically. Gryphon doesn't manufacture as many models as larger brands, but focuses on premium features like intrusion detection and content filtering. Their routers typically cost more than basic models but include security services that other brands sell separately.
Home users choose Gryphon routers because they provide enterprise-level security in a consumer-friendly package. Parents appreciate the detailed parental controls that let them manage screen time and block inappropriate content across all devices. The routers automatically update security definitions and don't require technical knowledge to maintain protection levels.
Gryphon's mesh systems appeal to users who want whole-home coverage without dead zones. The brand's mobile app makes network management simple, even for non-technical users. Many customers switch to Gryphon after experiencing malware infections or wanting better control over their children's internet access.
Accessing the Gryphon Admin Panel
You can access your Gryphon router's admin panel through any web browser on a connected device. Gryphon uses the standard IP address 192.168.1.1 for most models, and you'll need the default username and password to log in. The admin interface lets you configure WiFi settings, security features, and parental controls that make Gryphon routers unique.
Most Gryphon routers use 192.168.1.1 as their default gateway address. You can verify this by checking the network settings on any connected device or looking at the router label. Open Command Prompt on Windows and type 'ipconfig' to see your default gateway. On Mac, go to System Preferences, then Network, and click Advanced to view the router's IP address.
If 192.168.1.1 doesn't work, check if another device on your network is using that address. Some Gryphon models may automatically switch to 192.168.0.1 if there's an IP conflict. You can also try accessing the router through the Gryphon mobile app, which connects directly without needing to know the IP address.
Gryphon routers sometimes block admin panel access if they detect suspicious login attempts. If you can't reach the login page, wait 10 minutes before trying again. The security features may temporarily lock out connections that look like attacks. Clear your browser cache and try using a different browser or incognito mode.
Some users can't access the admin panel because their device connects to a guest network instead of the main network. Check that you're connected to the primary Gryphon network, not the guest WiFi. The guest network typically has limited access and won't let you reach the router settings. If you recently changed your network settings, restart both your device and the Gryphon router to refresh the connection.
Popular Gryphon Models
The Gryphon Guardian uses admin/admin for default login credentials and focuses on basic security protection for smaller homes. The Gryphon Tower provides mesh networking capabilities with the same default username and password combination. Both models use 192.168.1.1 as their default IP address and feature Gryphon's signature AI security engine.
Gryphon's AX series routers, including the AX Guardian and AX Tower, offer WiFi 6 technology with enhanced security features. These newer models keep the same admin/admin default credentials but include more advanced malware detection. The mesh versions can cover homes up to 3,000 square feet with multiple access points. All Gryphon models include free security updates for the first year, then require a subscription for continued protection.
Older Gryphon models like the original Guardian may have slightly different admin interfaces, but the login process stays the same across all models. The main difference is in available features rather than access methods. Newer AX models include additional security options and faster WiFi speeds in the admin panel.
Mesh Gryphon systems show multiple device status information in the admin interface, while single-unit models display simpler network statistics. All Gryphon routers use the same default credentials and IP address regardless of age or model type.
Troubleshooting Gryphon Login Issues
When you can't reach your Gryphon admin panel, first check that your device has a valid IP address from the router. Go to your network settings and look for an IP address starting with 192.168.1. If you see 169.254 or no IP address, your device isn't getting network access from the Gryphon router. Restart your WiFi connection or try connecting via Ethernet cable.
Gryphon's security features might block access if the router detects unusual network activity. Unplug the Gryphon router for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and wait 2 minutes for full startup. Try accessing 192.168.1.1 again after the router completely boots up. The power LED should be solid blue when the router is ready for connections.
If admin/admin doesn't work on your Gryphon router, someone may have changed the default password. Look for a password reset option on the login page, or check if your Gryphon router has the credentials printed on a label. Some newer Gryphon models use a unique default password that's printed on the device instead of the standard admin/admin combination.
Gryphon routers lock out login attempts after several failed tries to prevent unauthorized access. Wait 15 minutes before attempting to log in again if you get repeated password errors. The security system will automatically reset the lockout period. If you still can't access the admin panel, you may need to perform a factory reset to restore default credentials.
After factory resetting your Gryphon router, wait 2-3 minutes for the device to fully restart before trying to log in. The default credentials return to admin/admin, and the IP address will be 192.168.1.1. Connect to the default WiFi network name, which usually starts with 'Gryphon' followed by numbers or letters.
You'll need to reconfigure all your WiFi settings, security preferences, and parental controls after a factory reset. Gryphon routers don't automatically restore previous configurations. Use the setup wizard in the admin panel or the Gryphon mobile app to configure your network settings and reactivate security features.
How to Factory Reset a Gryphon Router
Factory reset your Gryphon router when you can't remember the admin password, the device isn't responding to configuration changes, or you're experiencing persistent connectivity issues. Reset is also necessary when selling or giving away the router to remove all personal settings and security configurations.
Locate the reset button on your Gryphon router, usually a small recessed button on the back or bottom of the device. Keep the router powered on during the reset process. Press and hold the reset button using a paperclip or similar tool for 10-15 seconds while the router is running. The LED lights will change patterns to indicate the reset is starting.
Release the reset button and wait for the Gryphon router to complete the reset process. The device will automatically restart, which takes about 2-3 minutes. The LED indicator will show different colors during startup and turn solid blue when the router is ready. Don't unplug the router during this process, as it may cause permanent damage to the device.
After the reset completes, the WiFi network name will change back to the default Gryphon network. You can find the default network name and password on the label attached to your router. Connect your device to this default network before trying to access the admin panel at 192.168.1.1.
Once you can access the Gryphon admin panel with the default admin/admin credentials, change the login password immediately for security. Set up your preferred WiFi network name and password, then reconfigure parental controls and security settings. The Gryphon mobile app can guide you through the initial setup process and help restore your network preferences quickly.
