Arris Router Login
Arris (now CommScope) is a major provider of cable modems and modem-router combos. They supply equipment to many ISPs worldwide including Comcast, Charter, and Cox.
Accessing Arris Settings
Arris devices commonly use 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.100.1. Default credentials vary by ISP . common combinations include admin/password and admin/motorola. Check the label on your device.
About Arris Routers
Arris started as a cable and broadband equipment company in 1995. The company gained major market share by making modems and routers for internet service providers across North America and Latin America. In 2013, Motorola sold its home networking division to Arris, which brought popular consumer router models under the Arris brand.
Today, Arris focuses on cable modems, gateway devices, and wireless routers for both ISPs and home users. Many internet providers in the Philippines, Mexico, and other markets distribute Arris equipment directly to customers. Arris routers often come pre-configured from your ISP, but you can still access the admin panel to change settings.
Home users choose Arris routers because they're reliable and work well with cable internet connections. Most Arris devices combine a modem and router in one unit, which saves space and reduces cable clutter. The web interface is straightforward compared to other brands.
Arris routers also tend to have good range for medium-sized homes. Since many ISPs provide Arris equipment for free or at low cost, you might already have one without realizing it.
Accessing the Arris Admin Panel
You can access your Arris router admin panel through any web browser on a device connected to your network. Open your browser and type the router's IP address in the address bar. Most Arris routers use either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.100.1 as the default gateway address.
Check the label on your Arris router to find the exact IP address. Look for text like 'Default Gateway' or 'Router IP' on a sticker on the bottom or back of the device. Arris commonly uses 192.168.0.1, but some models use 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.100.254.
If you can't find the label, open Command Prompt on Windows and type 'ipconfig'. Look for the 'Default Gateway' entry under your network connection. On Android or iPhone, go to WiFi settings and tap the 'i' icon next to your network name to see the router IP.
Arris routers sometimes take longer than other brands to respond when you first type the IP address. Wait at least 30 seconds for the login page to load completely. If you see a blank page, refresh your browser and wait again.
Some older Arris models redirect you to a different IP address after the initial connection. Don't panic if the URL changes from 192.168.0.1 to something like 192.168.100.254. The router is just sending you to the correct admin interface.
Arris routers provided by ISPs often have customized login pages with your provider's branding. You might see Comcast, Charter, or other company logos instead of the standard Arris interface. The login process works the same way regardless of the appearance.
Popular Arris Models
The Arris SURFboard SBG series are popular gateway models that combine modem and router functions. Models like SBG6700-AC, SBG6900-AC, and SBG8300 typically use 192.168.0.1 with 'admin' and 'password' as default credentials. The newer SBG10 and SBG8300 models might use 'admin' and 'motorola' instead.
Arris TG series routers like TG862G, TG1672G, and TG3482G are common in cable provider installations. These models usually default to 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.100.1. The username is 'admin' and password is either 'password' or 'motorola'. Some TG models have the credentials printed on the device label.
The newer Arris G34 and G36 models use 192.168.0.1 and typically have 'admin' as both username and password. However, some G36 units come with randomly generated passwords printed on the router label for security.
Older Arris models from the Motorola era often use 'admin' and 'motorola' as login credentials. Newer Arris-branded models tend to use 'admin' and 'password' instead. Always check your device label first because some models have unique default passwords.
Arris gateway models provided by cable companies sometimes have different interfaces than retail versions. ISP-provided units might have limited settings available or additional parental controls. The basic network settings remain accessible on all models.
Troubleshooting Arris Login Issues
Make sure your device is connected to the Arris router's WiFi network or plugged in with an ethernet cable. You can't access the admin panel from a different network. Check that your WiFi shows as connected and not just 'saved'.
Try typing 'http://' before the IP address in your browser, like 'http://192.168.0.1'. Some browsers assume you're searching instead of entering an IP address. If 192.168.0.1 doesn't work, try 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.100.254 since Arris uses different defaults on various models.
Arris routers use either 'admin/password' or 'admin/motorola' as default credentials. Try both combinations since the default varies between model series. If neither works, check for a sticker on your router with the actual username and password printed on it.
Some newer Arris models have randomly generated default passwords for security. Look for a label that says 'WiFi Password' or 'Router Password' on the back or bottom of your device. ISP-provided Arris routers might have custom default credentials set by your internet provider.
After factory reset, your Arris router returns to default IP address and login credentials. Wait 2-3 minutes for the router to fully reboot before trying to connect. All lights should be solid, not blinking.
You'll need to set up your WiFi network name and password again since reset erases all custom settings. Your internet connection settings might restore automatically if your ISP pre-configured the device.
How to Factory Reset a Arris Router
Use factory reset when you can't log in with any password combination, or when your Arris router has connection problems that basic troubleshooting won't fix. Reset also helps if someone changed settings and you don't know the current admin password.
Find the small reset button on your Arris router, usually on the back panel near the power cord. The button is recessed and requires a paperclip or similar tool to press. Make sure your router is powered on and all lights are stable before starting.
Press and hold the reset button for 10-15 seconds while the router is running. You'll see the lights turn off and then start blinking as the device restarts. Keep holding the button until you see the lights change pattern. Release the button and wait 2-3 minutes for the router to complete the reset process.
Don't unplug the power during reset since that can damage the router's firmware. The front lights will cycle through different colors and patterns before returning to normal. When reset finishes, all lights should be solid and you can access the admin panel with default credentials.
Log in using the default IP address and credentials for your Arris model. Set up your WiFi network name and password first, then configure any port forwarding or parental controls you need. Your internet connection should work automatically if your ISP pre-configured the router.
