Accessing your router admin through 192.168.4.1 address will allow you to change the settings and configurations that your router software provides.

Change Your Router Password

Find the WiFi password field, usually called "Passphrase" or "Pre-Shared Key." Enter a strong password that's at least 12 characters long. Mix uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Write this down because every device needs this password to connect. After you save changes in 192.168.4.1, all your devices will disconnect and you'll need to reconnect them with the new password.

Port Forwarding

Port forwarding through 192.168.4.1 lets specific programs on your devices talk to the internet directly. You might need this for gaming, security cameras, or remote access to your computer. Look for "Port Forwarding" or "Virtual Server" in your 192.168.4.1 settings.

You'll need to enter the local IP address of your device, the port numbers, and choose TCP or UDP protocol. Don't enable port forwarding unless you really need it. Every open port is a potential security risk. Most people never need to touch these settings in 192.168.4.1, so only change them if a specific program tells you to.
