  1. Connect to your BenQ router. Make sure the router is on. Plug in an ethernet cable or connect to the router's WiFi. Ethernet works best for admin access.

  2. Open any web browser. Type 192.168.1.1 into the address bar (not the search bar) and press Enter.

If you have forgotten your username and password, you can follow the instructions to recover them. If you haven't changed the default username and password that came with the router, you can consult our default router usernames and passwords list.

  • Can't reach the login page

Make sure you're connected to the BenQ router via WiFi or ethernet, not mobile data. Type http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar. If it still won't load, unplug the router for 30 seconds and try again.

  • Default credentials not accepted

Check the sticker on the bottom of your BenQ router. The actual username and password are printed there. If those don't work either, someone changed them. You'll need to factory reset.

  • Router stops working after changes

Reset to factory defaults: hold the reset button on the back of your BenQ router for 10-30 seconds. Wait 2-3 minutes for it to reboot, then log in again.

  • Forgot the admin password

A factory reset is the only way back in. This wipes all settings, including your WiFi name and password. You'll need to set everything up again after the reset.

  • Settings won't save

Use an ethernet cable instead of WiFi when making changes. Some BenQ routers drop the connection during saves, which causes errors.

About BenQ Routers

BenQ started as a computer monitor and display manufacturer before expanding into networking hardware. The company built its reputation on affordable yet reliable home networking equipment in Asia and Latin America. BenQ routers became popular in the Philippines and India because they offered good performance at budget-friendly prices.

BenQ focuses on simple, user-friendly designs that don't overwhelm new users. The company targets home users who want basic networking without complex features. BenQ routers typically come with straightforward web interfaces that make setup and management easier for non-technical users.

Home users choose BenQ routers because they're affordable and reliable for basic internet needs. BenQ doesn't overload their routers with advanced features that most families don't use. The company's focus on simplicity means you can set up a BenQ router quickly without technical knowledge.

BenQ routers also work well in smaller homes and apartments where you don't need enterprise-grade features. The brand offers good value for money, especially in markets where other router brands cost significantly more.

Accessing the BenQ Admin Panel

You can access your BenQ router's admin panel through any web browser on a device connected to your network. BenQ uses a standard web interface that works on computers, phones, and tablets. Open your browser and navigate to your BenQ router's IP address to reach the login screen.

Most BenQ routers use 192.168.1.1 as their default IP address. Type this into your browser's address bar and press Enter to reach the BenQ login page. If 192.168.1.1 doesn't work, check the label on the bottom of your BenQ router for the correct address.

You can also find your BenQ router's IP address by opening Command Prompt on Windows and typing 'ipconfig'. Look for the 'Default Gateway' address, which will be your BenQ router's IP.

Some BenQ routers take longer to load the login page than other brands. Wait at least 30 seconds for the page to appear before trying again. If you see a blank page, refresh your browser or try a different browser like Chrome or Firefox.

BenQ routers sometimes conflict with VPN software on your computer. Turn off any VPN connections before trying to access your BenQ admin panel. Also make sure you're connected to your BenQ network and not a neighbor's WiFi.

Older BenQ models may not work properly with newer browsers that have strict security settings. If you can't reach the login page, try using Internet Explorer or enabling compatibility mode in your current browser.

Popular BenQ Models

The BenQ RT-N300 uses admin/admin for both username and password. You'll find this model in many homes because it's affordable and handles basic internet browsing well. The RT-N300's admin panel has a simple layout with basic wireless settings and port forwarding options.

BenQ's AC1200 series also uses admin/admin credentials by default. These dual-band routers offer better performance for streaming and gaming. The AC1200 admin interface includes more advanced options like guest networks and parental controls.

The BenQ RT-AC68U comes with admin/admin login credentials. This model targets users who need better range and speed. Its web interface looks similar to other BenQ routers but includes additional wireless optimization features.

Older BenQ models from 2015 and earlier use simpler web interfaces with fewer menu options. These routers focus on basic wireless settings and don't include modern features like mesh networking or advanced QoS controls.

Newer BenQ routers have more polished interfaces but still maintain the brand's simple design philosophy. The login process remains the same across all BenQ models, but newer units load faster and work better with modern browsers.

Troubleshooting BenQ Login Issues

Check that your computer is connected to your BenQ router's network, not a mobile hotspot or neighbor's WiFi. Look for your BenQ network name in your WiFi list and connect to it first. Some BenQ routers have network names that start with 'BenQ' followed by numbers.

Try accessing your BenQ router using an Ethernet cable instead of WiFi. Connect the cable from your computer to any LAN port on your BenQ router. Wired connections often work when WiFi access fails.

BenQ routers ship with admin/admin as the default login credentials. Type 'admin' in both the username and password fields. Make sure you're typing lowercase letters and don't include any spaces before or after 'admin'.

If admin/admin doesn't work, someone may have changed the BenQ router's login credentials. Try common alternatives like admin/password or admin/1234. Check if you wrote down custom login details when you first set up your BenQ router.

After factory resetting your BenQ router, wait for all lights to stop flashing before trying to log in. Connect your computer directly to the BenQ router with an Ethernet cable for the most reliable connection. Use 192.168.1.1 in your browser and log in with admin/admin.

How to Factory Reset a BenQ Router

Factory reset your BenQ router when you can't remember the login password or when the device stops working properly. Resetting will erase all your custom settings including WiFi passwords and port forwarding rules.

Locate the small Reset button on the back or bottom of your BenQ router. The button is usually recessed and requires a paperclip or similar tool to press. Make sure your BenQ router is powered on before starting the reset process.

Press and hold the Reset button for 10-15 seconds while the router is running. You'll see the lights on your BenQ router flash or change color during the reset. Keep holding until the power light turns solid again.

Release the Reset button and wait 2-3 minutes for your BenQ router to finish rebooting. All lights should return to their normal state when the reset is complete. Your BenQ router will now use its original factory settings including the admin/admin login.

Connect to your BenQ router using an Ethernet cable and navigate to 192.168.1.1 in your browser. Log in with admin/admin and run through the initial setup wizard to configure your internet connection and WiFi settings. Change the default admin password to something secure before finishing setup.
