Elecom Router Login

Need to change your WiFi password or update your network settings? Log into your Elecom router's setup page to get it done.

The default gateway address for Elecom is 192.168.2.1. Type this into your browser's address bar (not the search bar) while connected to the router's network.

خطوات تسجيل الدخول

Accessing your Elecom router admin through http://192.168.2.1 will allow you to change the settings and configurations that your router software provides.

  1. Connect to your Elecom router. Make sure the router is on. Plug in an ethernet cable or connect to the router's WiFi. Ethernet works best for admin access.

  2. Open any web browser. Type 192.168.2.1 into the address bar (not the search bar) and press Enter.

  3. If the default IP doesn't work, find the real one. On Windows, open Command Prompt and type ipconfig. Look for "Default Gateway". On Mac, open Terminal and type netstat -nr.

  4. Use the default credentials listed above. The most common combo is admin / admin. Check the label on the bottom of your router if those don't work.

  5. You're in. Change your WiFi name and password, set up port forwarding, update firmware, or adjust security settings.

If you have forgotten your username and password, you can follow the instructions to recover them. If you haven't changed the default username and password that came with the router, you can consult our default router usernames and passwords list.

  • Can't reach the login page

Make sure you're connected to the Elecom router via WiFi or ethernet, not mobile data. Type http://192.168.2.1 in the address bar. If it still won't load, unplug the router for 30 seconds and try again.

  • Default credentials not accepted

Check the sticker on the bottom of your Elecom router. The actual username and password are printed there. If those don't work either, someone changed them. You'll need to factory reset.

  • Router stops working after changes

Reset to factory defaults: hold the reset button on the back of your Elecom router for 10-30 seconds. Wait 2-3 minutes for it to reboot, then log in again.

  • Forgot the admin password

A factory reset is the only way back in. This wipes all settings, including your WiFi name and password. You'll need to set everything up again after the reset.

  • Settings won't save

Use an ethernet cable instead of WiFi when making changes. Some Elecom routers drop the connection during saves, which causes errors.

About Elecom Routers

Elecom started as a Japanese computer peripheral company in 1986 and expanded into networking equipment in the early 2000s. The company built its reputation making reliable accessories like keyboards and mice before moving into routers and wireless devices. Elecom focuses on the Asian market, particularly Japan, with many models designed for smaller homes and apartments common in urban Asia.

Elecom routers target budget-conscious users who want reliable performance without complex features. The company doesn't compete with premium brands like Asus or Netgear. Instead, Elecom offers simple, affordable routers that work well for basic internet sharing and Wi-Fi coverage in small to medium spaces.

Home users choose Elecom because the routers are straightforward to set up and manage. You won't find confusing advanced features or overwhelming admin interfaces. Elecom keeps things simple with basic Wi-Fi settings, port forwarding, and parental controls that actually work.

The brand offers good value for money, especially in regions where other router brands cost significantly more. Elecom routers also tend to have stable firmware that doesn't require frequent updates or troubleshooting.

Accessing the Elecom Admin Panel

You access your Elecom router admin panel through a web browser using the default IP address 192.168.2.1. Open any browser on a device connected to your Elecom router and type this address in the URL bar. The login page will appear with fields for username and password.

Most Elecom routers use 192.168.2.1 as the default gateway address. Check the label on the bottom or back of your router to confirm the exact IP address. Some newer Elecom models might use 192.168.1.1 instead.

If you can't find the IP on the router label, open Command Prompt on Windows and type 'ipconfig'. Look for 'Default Gateway' under your network adapter. On Mac, go to System Preferences, then Network, and check your connection details.

Elecom routers sometimes take longer than other brands to load the admin page. Wait at least 30 seconds after typing the IP address before refreshing or trying again. The login interface loads slowly on older Elecom models.

Some Elecom routers block admin access if you're connected through Wi-Fi instead of Ethernet cable. Connect your computer directly to the router with an Ethernet cable if you can't reach the login page wirelessly.

Elecom's default subnet is different from most routers. While other brands use 192.168.1.x, Elecom uses 192.168.2.x. Make sure your device gets an IP address in the correct range, like 192.168.2.100, to access the admin panel.

Popular Elecom Models

The Elecom WRC-1167GHBK2-S uses the standard 192.168.2.1 address with 'admin' username and blank password. The WRC-2533GST2 also follows the same login pattern. These dual-band models are popular for home offices and small apartments.

Elecom's WRC-1900GHBK-A and WRC-1750GHBK use identical login credentials. The username is always 'admin' and you leave the password field empty on first setup. After initial configuration, Elecom prompts you to create a custom admin password.

Older Elecom models like the WRC-1167GHBK might use different default IPs. Check the model number on your router's label and look up the specific defaults if 192.168.2.1 doesn't work.

Newer Elecom router series (WRC-2533 and above) have updated web interfaces with different menu layouts. The login process stays the same, but you'll see more modern graphics and reorganized settings pages.

Elecom's older WRC-300FEBK and WRC-733FEBK models have simpler interfaces with fewer configuration options. These budget models use the same default credentials but offer basic settings only.

Troubleshooting Elecom Login Issues

If 192.168.2.1 doesn't load, your Elecom router might be using a different IP address. Try 192.168.1.1 or check if someone changed the default settings. Restart both your computer and Elecom router, then wait two minutes before trying again.

Disable any VPN software or proxy settings that might interfere with local network access. Elecom routers can conflict with certain security software that blocks local IP addresses. Temporarily turn off Windows Defender or antivirus programs to test the connection.

Elecom routers ship with 'admin' as the username and a blank password field. Don't type anything in the password box on your first login. If that doesn't work, someone already changed the default password and you'll need to reset the router.

Some Elecom models require you to set an admin password during initial setup. If you forgot this custom password, the only solution is performing a factory reset to restore the blank default password.

After factory resetting your Elecom router, wait three minutes for the device to fully restart. The admin interface will be accessible again at 192.168.2.1 with username 'admin' and blank password. Elecom routers take longer than other brands to complete the reset process.

You'll need to reconfigure your Wi-Fi network name and password after reset. Elecom doesn't save wireless settings during factory reset, unlike some other router brands.

How to Factory Reset a Elecom Router

Reset your Elecom router when you can't remember the admin password or if the device stops responding to configuration changes. Elecom routers benefit from factory reset if you're experiencing frequent disconnections or slow performance that basic troubleshooting can't fix.

Locate the small reset button on the back of your Elecom router. You'll need a paperclip or similar tool to press the recessed button. Keep the router powered on during the reset process.

Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds while the router is running. Watch the LED lights on the front panel. They'll flash quickly, then turn off, then restart in sequence. Release the reset button when you see the lights begin their startup pattern.

Wait at least three minutes for your Elecom router to complete the factory reset. Don't unplug the device during this time. The router will return to its original settings with IP address 192.168.2.1 and default credentials.

Connect to the Elecom admin panel at 192.168.2.1 using 'admin' and blank password. You'll need to set up your internet connection settings and Wi-Fi network again. Elecom's setup wizard will guide you through basic configuration, but you'll lose all custom settings from before the reset.
