Accessing your Starlink router admin through http://192.168.100.1 will allow you to change the settings and configurations that your router software provides.
-
Connect to your Starlink router. Make sure the router is on. Plug in an ethernet cable or connect to the router's WiFi. Ethernet works best for admin access.

If you have forgotten your username and password, you can follow the instructions to recover them. If you haven't changed the default username and password that came with the router, you can consult our default router usernames and passwords list.
-
Can't reach the login page
Make sure you're connected to the Starlink router via WiFi or ethernet, not mobile data. Type http://192.168.100.1 in the address bar. If it still won't load, unplug the router for 30 seconds and try again.
-
Default credentials not accepted
Check the sticker on the bottom of your Starlink router. The actual username and password are printed there. If those don't work either, someone changed them. You'll need to factory reset.
-
Router stops working after changes
Reset to factory defaults: hold the reset button on the back of your Starlink router for 10-30 seconds. Wait 2-3 minutes for it to reboot, then log in again.
-
Forgot the admin password
A factory reset is the only way back in. This wipes all settings, including your WiFi name and password. You'll need to set everything up again after the reset.
-
Settings won't save
Use an ethernet cable instead of WiFi when making changes. Some Starlink routers drop the connection during saves, which causes errors.
About Starlink Routers
Starlink launched in 2018 as SpaceX's satellite internet division. Elon Musk created Starlink to bring high-speed internet to remote areas where cable and fiber can't reach. The company uses thousands of low-orbit satellites to beam internet directly to users anywhere on Earth.
Starlink has grown rapidly since 2020, serving over 2 million customers worldwide. The service targets rural homes, RV travelers, and maritime users who struggle with traditional internet options. Starlink's router technology connects directly to their satellite dish system.
Home users choose Starlink because it works where other internet services don't. You can get 100+ Mbps speeds in remote locations that previously had no broadband options. Starlink doesn't require phone lines or cable infrastructure.
The Starlink system is easy to set up yourself. You just place the dish outside with a clear view of the sky and plug in the router. Many users in rural Philippines, remote parts of India, and mountainous Latin American regions rely on Starlink as their primary internet source.
Accessing the Starlink Admin Panel
You can access your Starlink router settings through the web interface at 192.168.100.1. Starlink uses a simplified admin panel that's different from traditional router brands. Most configuration happens through the Starlink mobile app, but the web interface gives you basic network information.
Starlink routers always use 192.168.100.1 as the default IP address. You don't need to check your network settings or look for stickers on the device. Type 192.168.100.1 into any web browser while connected to your Starlink network.
If 192.168.100.1 doesn't work, check that you're connected to the Starlink WiFi network. The router won't respond if you're using mobile data or a different internet connection.
Starlink's web interface often loads slowly or times out during satellite handoffs. Wait 30 seconds and refresh the page if it doesn't load immediately. The connection might drop briefly while your dish switches between satellites.
Some users can't reach 192.168.100.1 because their device has a cached DNS entry. Clear your browser cache or try a different browser. You can also restart your phone or computer to clear network settings.
Starlink routers sometimes become unresponsive during firmware updates. The dish receives automatic updates from the satellites that can take 10-15 minutes. Don't unplug anything during this process or you might corrupt the firmware.
Popular Starlink Models
The Starlink Gen 2 router is the current standard model that comes with new kits. It has a white rectangular design and uses 'admin' as the default username with no password required. Just leave the password field blank when logging in.
Older Gen 1 Starlink systems use a round white router that also uses 'admin' with a blank password. These routers have the same 192.168.100.1 IP address but slightly different web interface layouts. The Gen 1 models are being phased out but many users still have them.
Starlink for RV and maritime applications use the same router hardware as residential service. The login credentials don't change between service types, but mobile users might see different configuration options in the web interface.
All Starlink router models use the same IP address and login credentials. The web interface looks nearly identical between generations. Gen 2 routers have slightly faster processors and more memory, but this doesn't affect the login process.
Business Starlink accounts get additional configuration options in the web interface. You'll see VLAN settings and traffic prioritization controls that aren't available on residential accounts. The login process stays the same regardless of your service plan.
Troubleshooting Starlink Login Issues
Check that your device is connected to the Starlink WiFi network before trying to access 192.168.100.1. You can't reach the router admin panel from other networks or mobile data connections. Look for a network name starting with 'Starlink' in your WiFi settings.
Starlink dishes need 15-30 minutes to fully boot up and establish satellite connections. The router won't respond to login attempts during this initialization period. Wait for the Starlink app to show an active connection before trying to access the web interface.
Starlink routers ship with 'admin' as the username and a blank password field. Don't type anything in the password box, just click login or press Enter. If this doesn't work, someone may have changed the default credentials through the web interface.
You can't recover changed passwords on Starlink routers without doing a factory reset. The device doesn't have password recovery options like traditional routers. If you forgot custom login credentials, you'll need to reset the router to defaults and reconfigure your network settings.
After factory resetting your Starlink router, wait 5-10 minutes for the system to rebuild its satellite connections. The router will return to default settings with 'admin' username and blank password. You'll need to reconnect all your devices to the default Starlink WiFi network.
The Starlink mobile app will guide you through setting up your network name and password again. You don't need to use the web interface for basic setup, but 192.168.100.1 will work with default credentials after the reset completes.
How to Factory Reset a Starlink Router
Reset your Starlink router when you can't log in with forgotten credentials or when the device becomes completely unresponsive. A factory reset also helps if you're selling the equipment or moving it to a new location with different service requirements.
Locate the reset button on the bottom of your Starlink router. It's a small recessed button that requires a paperclip or similar tool to press. Make sure the router has power and the dish is connected before starting the reset process.
Press and hold the reset button for 10-15 seconds while the router is powered on. The status lights will change patterns during the reset. Release the button and wait for the router to restart completely.
The reset process takes 5-10 minutes to complete. Don't unplug the router or disconnect the dish during this time. The Starlink system needs to reestablish its satellite connections and download current firmware. You'll see the status lights cycle through different colors as the reset progresses.
Open the Starlink mobile app after the reset completes to reconfigure your network settings. The app will detect the factory-reset router and guide you through naming your WiFi network and setting a password. The web interface at 192.168.100.1 will work again with default 'admin' credentials.
